or at least my otp always was canon. I mean, I was a huge Zuko/Sokka and Zukaang shipper in the old days, but that was just my horny little middle schooler self. I think it comes from the fact that I never really actually shipped anything, I just went with the canon. The canon ship had already been developed by the time I started thinking about shipping. but then the whole zutara vs. kataang thing happened, and since I just went with the canon, I was heavily fighting for kataang. But then Korra came out, and I had started to think of shipping before any canon was developed, so Borra was the first thing that I shipped, and it stuck. He was so adorable, but I think it is mostly coming from him being more similar to Aang, whereas Mako is more similar to Zuko. So I still have those anti-zutara feels that prevent me from shipping makorra. And then Masami happened, and at first I just liked them because of Borra, but then Asami really grew on me and I liked her with Mako. I keep getting this feeling that she is going to be like Jet or Haru, or even Suki, where she leaves. Suki would be acceptable, as they would still be together. I don’t think she’ll disappear for good like Yue. But then there are my super homosexual noncanon ships like Zuko/Sokka, and now, Linorra. Even in other fandoms, like drarry. I know they will never happen, it’s just for fun (avatar the last cumbender, anyone?). But really. Imma be sad if Borra and Masami aren’t endgame.
